Surviving Nemo

We had a pretty big storm last weekend, and it definitely deserved an entry in our blog story. On Friday afternoon, there was a great deal of enthusiasm in an effort to get a "head start" shoveling.

As the storm picked up, so the enthusiasm waned. On Saturday morning it became clear we were quite a bit behind (yes, somewhere under that snow is the road).

Nikola was still happy to get out, though his shovel may have been a bit undersized for the job.

There were some good hiding spots, in all that whiteness.

Sunday morning was bright and sunny, and we were fortunate that our neighbor used a snow-blower on our driveway (after shoveling for 10 hours on Saturday, only a third of it was done!)...

...so, we headed over to campus, in search of a sledding hill. Knowing how difficult Nikola is to get him to take a photo, no one will be surprised to know that this time the sun was really getting into his eyes (so he had to close them).

Jovan was not sure where all that white stuff came from - and he also wondered where the cup-holder is in his sled.

The ride was tiring and bumpy at times...

...but our regular "rest areas" were inaccessible.

After finding a good spot to take a break...

...we were ready to go down the hill. Buski was the first one to go.

Jovan was very entertained by that, and he signed up to be number two.

Okay, here we go!

By the time he got to the bottom of the hill, he thought the whole thing was grossly overrated.

Nikola got some good laughs trying to jump of the sled, which would slide under as he pushed off of it.

Jovan had to go for a nap, so Buski and Tata continued their day out alone. This is what we need on our summer walks, when everyone leaves - a throne for the King of Campus.

We practiced throwing snow-balls...

Making a face is essential for a good throw.

Chillin'...

Jumping into the snow never gets old...

...especially if it leads to a tasty snow sampling!

On our way home, we couldn't find the stairs - the handrail was all that was left of them...
